I'm trying to get myself an outcast shield, and tried 600, A/E and the other usual ways, but no luck, they either rip all the enchantments or other problems occur.

So I ask, does anyone know how to farm general outcast groups in factions (not Halcyon Job)?

I did farm outside the mines a while with a variant of [Vengeful Was Khanhei]+[Arcane Echo] IThink I used a mantra too.. and lots of healing

Don't know if it works... It was before EOTN so look into Pve skills

Can you provide more info - eg profession your using or ones you have available to use that have access to those areas , what campaigns you have etc - this will make it easier for ppl to try and help.
600 ? is that 600 monk solo , 600/smite team ?

No really challenge here...

a) Take a "Standard" SF E/A with:
GOEP, intensity, ural and BSEoH as the optional skills.

Travel to Aurios Mine and take the exit and to the left. Farm Milthuran and one of his minions with the renewed SF.
They do drop that shield skin, got a r13 from one of those outcast. And you may get an elite tome in the meanwhile.

Note: if the Milthuran party has only casters, you may be not be able to kill him because of -33% dmg and/or short SF duration. Same note for A/e

b) Take a 600hp monk (archane echo+Spellbreaker) with IaS and a smiter hero.... profit!

If you dont have IaS, take aura of stability on a 2nd monk (smiter f.e.).
Only troubles may be the ritualist, with their spirit healing.

c) Do any of the above/another farm and buy it.

I have all professions available to farm that area, apart from Rit, so looking at spirit of defeats suggestion, I'll get him to there also.

I have all campaigns/skills open to me, so feel free to go wild

Sorry for the lack of clarity; I tried with 600 Monk/Smiter with a hero smiter. Did not bother with 55hp, I also tried the Sin/ele combo, but I think AoE damage killed me.

Not tried the Vengful route, but my Rit is nearly there, so I'l keep it in mind.

To be honest, I've not found anywhere as hard to farm as groups of outcasts, I've tanked the titan farming in DoA which is always a bit hairy, they just seem to have a really good combo of skills to stop solo or +1 hero farming of them.

To make it worse, I've seen a few people advertising for Outcast shields too, so prices may be going up.

Yeh I tried this a bit ago, I just used standard glads def on groups groups of 4 either in gyala or rheas crater, involves some skill with aggro avoidance but it's reliable. only ever got a tactics shield though ¬__¬.

Tactics? YAY! That's the kind I'm after, checking on wiki and wikia, one says Str only and the other says tactics and Str.

Not tried farming the boss group you mention, so thank you for the new ideas.

On I side note, I'd pay 100k for a q9 tactics outcast shield with +1 Death magic 20%.

I have a curses +1 on another shield and found it quite fun having high armour with occasional spikes in damage

I think the fastest way to get them and I got a fair share of them was chest running rhea's crater. It isn't too hard to do as a perma or other good running build.

you could try that :

[deadly paradox][arcane echo][shadow form][spirit of failure][empathy][diversion][shadow refuge][wastrel's worry]

used to be doable as mes (faster), but now it's sin only so slower due to casting time
16 shadow arts
4 inspi for +2 energy breakpoint from [spirit of failure]
11 domi
rest deadly

stuff to use
10%HCT all 20%enchant spear
20/20 dom focus and 20/20 inspi focus (switch to cast)

killing strategy
edit : of course maintain shadow form at all time
tip for when to cast arcane echoed SF :

basically slightly before recharge of original SF reaches bottom left corner

[spirit of failure] on sin (or war if no sin), this will be your mana source
kill necro first (move away if they cast [well of blood] and heal with [shadow refuge] to counter their [unholy feast])
then rits, war and sin
build works in HM and can kill all outcast bosses (milthuran, lorel, delic, arius, incetol, talous) and onis (chances for greens yay), just use [diversion] wisely on the key skills
be sure to bring lockpicks too

yes it probably can kill rajazan and merki, but the problem would be to reach them, the creeping carps in the area have [expunge enchantment] which kills SF
you will need to be extra careful of their patrol

on a side note you can also try to kill the other bosses in that area (unwaking waters explorable), kunvie (he won't [lightning touch] you if you don't get close to melee range) and shrouded oni

i have gotten quite a few vanquishing from chest. might be fast to buy a stack of lp's and do some chest running. not only getting golds and tomes. but title points as well
